Recipe: Spinach, Basil and Plum Salad from Food & Wine

Pair with: Ka Mancine Beragna Rossese di Dolceacqua 2013 ($35)

Rossese is a finicky but regal grape grown in Liguria, on the west coast of Italy and just a stone's throw from Nice in Provence, France. The wines are super light, tangy and aromatic in an herbal sort of way... much like this light, tangy-plummy and herbal salad! Ka Mancine is run by Maurizio Anfosso dei Mancinei and his family, doing everything by hand.

Recipe: Tuna Melt Canapes from Saveur

Pair with: Domaine Dupuy Le Lome Matelote Rose Provence 2014 ($22)

Dupuy Le Lome has been doing its thing in Provence (and mostly Bandol, the most prestigious appellation of Provence) since the mid-1800s. They're one of THE names of the region, known especially in France for serious red and rosé wines that show off the potential of this area. Their Matelote rosé comes from just north of the Bandol-proper boundaries, which means that it also comes at half the price for dang-near the same quality. This is mostly Mourvèdre with a bit of Grenache and Syrah. Everything about this lil' chichi tuna canapé begs for a bright and chic rosé that makes you feel like you could be dining al fresco on a Provençal patio.
